DIRECTIONS TO NORTH MOUNTAIN FROM THE SOUTH

1. Follow 81 north to exit 247 B (33 West) follow the signs through the City of Harrisonburg,Va. Follow the 33 west signs to Brandywine, WV.

2. At Brandywine after the BP station (on your left) turn right at the intersection and continue on 33 west until you reach the stop light in Franklin, WV.

3. At the stop light turn right onto 220 north. Travel approx. 11 miles on 220 north until you reach Upper Tract,WV.

4. Drive approx. 1 ½ miles through Upper Tract until you reach a sharp turn to the right in the road that travels over a concrete bridge. Before this bridge turn left into the Monongahela National Forest (Smokehole Recreation Area) Do not cross over bridge as this will take you into Petersburg, WV

5. Drive approx 5 miles until you reach SHREVE”S STORE in the fork of the road.

6. Bare left and travel ½ mile until you see a right turn onto a paved road (Smokehole Road). There will be a white house on your right on that corner. Also as you drive along that ½ mile you will see a small camping trailer park on your right before the white house on the corner.

7. Turn right onto Smokehole Road (paved road) and travel approx. 4 ½ miles. (We will be on your left ½ mile past North Fork Mountain Inn)

DIRECTIONS TO NORTH MOUNTAIN FROM THE EAST (WASHINGTON DC AREA)

1. Follow Interstate 66 West. Pass by Fairfax, Va. Onto Interstate 81 South (exit 1)

2. Continue South on I-81 to VA-55 (exit 296).

3 After driving through Wardensville, VA. Turn left onto interstate 33 Drive to Moorefield exit. (Last exit on the interstate at present.) (Rt. 220 )

4. Turn left at traffic light onto 220 south, 28/55 towards Petersburg, WV. (approx. 12 miles)

5. At the light in Petersburg, turn right and follow (approx. 1½ miles) until the second light. Go through the second traffic light and continue straight on Rt. 28-55. Drive another 6 miles to Cabins, WV. Continue through Cabins approx 2 miles until you reach the bottom of a long hill. On your left will be “Smoke Hole Cottages”

6. Immediately after Smoke Hole Cottages there will be a bridge on your left. Turn left onto the bridge. You will see signs before you turn that say Smokehole and also Big Bend 16 miles.

7. Stay on this paved road for 7 ½ miles until you see our sign on your right. Turn in and follow the road on in. The house in front of you as you turn in the gate is our house. You can drive up to our house or to your cabin. The driveway is circular.

DIRECTIONS TO NORTH MOUNTAIN FROM THE NORTH
OHIO/NEW YORK/ PENNSYLVANIA

1. Go south on I-79

2. Then east on I-68 to Cumberland, Md.

3. Turn south on Route 220 to Route 50

4. At route 50 go west to route 93 then south to Scherr, WV

5. At route 42 intersection go south (turn left) and travel approx. 18 miles into Petersburg.

6. At intersection in Petersburg bare right and travel approx. 5-6 miles on route 28/55 west past Cabins, WV

7. At the bottom of the hill you will see Smoke Hole Cottages on your left. Immediately after Smoke Hole Cottages turn left onto a bridge (Smokehole Road).Travel 7 ½ miles on the paved road until you see our sign on your right. Our office is in plain view of the road. The driveway is circular. You can drive to the office or to your cabin.

DIRECTIONS TO NORTH MOUNTIAN FROM THE WEST
ELKINS/ CHARLESTON

1. . Travel route 33 east until you reach the intersection at Seneca Rocks

2. Turn left onto 28/55 east. Travel approx. 18 miles until you reach Smokehole Caverns

3. Travel another 2 miles and turn right on to a bridge (Smokehole Road) (If you pass”Smokehole Cottages” you have gone too far)

4. Travel 7 ½ miles on the paved road until you see our sign on your right. Turn into the driveway. Our office/ home is in frint of you. The driveway is circular. You may drive to the office or your cabin
